Banger Racing

Banger racing is British motorsport at its most raw: stripped-out cars, a muddy oval and drivers who expect to finish the night with a lot less car than they started with.

These photos focus as much on the pits as on the racing: the drivers climbing into crumpled cars, and the mechanics working under head torches to get them back out for the next heat.
